Fremont County Master Gardeners meet on Wednesday, January 22

 This month’s meeting will be held on Wednesday January 22nd  at 5:00pm. The meeting will be held at the Riverton Extension office. This is located in the Fremont County office building just north of the fairgrounds on the north side of Fairgrounds Drive. Use the walk-through door on the southeast corner of the building.

Master Gardeners met for the City of Riverton's Tree Surveying day. They broke up into groups of two or three. Jim Brodle gathered the physical information while Carol Brodle put the information into the app. There were six parks the City wanted to have surveyed.

Present were members of the RIverton Tree Board, Master Gardeners, and members of the Riverton Garden Club. Josh and Tammy Shroyer are on the tree board and also own the business, Flaming Tree Solutions.

Fremont County Master Gardeners: Young Yard & Garden Tour on Riverview this Wednesday

The August Monthly meeting will take place this Wednesday August 28 at 5:00 pm.  The meeting will be held at the home of Rick and Judy Young 125 Country Club Drive (on the left corner of Riverview Road and Country Club Drive.

• Master Gardeners State Convention - October 4-6, Eastern Wyoming College in Douglas, Wyoming. Jeff Edwards and Scott Schell are slated to present a class on entomology. Updates on the Wyoming Master Gardeners Facebook page.

Fremont County Master Gardeners: Brodle Garden Tour on Wednesday, July 24

The monthly meeting of the Fremont County Master Gardeners will be this Wednesday July 24 at 5:00 PM at the home of Jim and Carol Brodle, 307 West Pershing in Riverton. There will be a short business meeting followed by a tour of Jim and Carol’s property and the improvements they have made to their pond (including the addition of some Coi fish). Strawberry Hoop House Work Day

In June, Bob Zent gave us a tour of his garden. We were very impressed with how weed-free the first area was, the plantings in hay bales, and his extensive plantings of multiple types of raspberries, grapes, and the hazelnut and apricot trees he has planted. Bob stated that, with the lack of honey bees and other native pollinators, his raspberries are pollinated by mosquitoes. Bob gets his compost/soil amendment from Casper. We also had a discussion about bad winter storms.

Fremont County Master Gardeners: Garden Tour in Shoshoni on Wednesday, June 26

The monthly  meeting for June is upon us. It will take place Wednesday, June 26 at the home of Bob Zent in Shoshoni.  The meeting will start at 5:00 pm and include a short business meeting followed by a yard tour.  Directions to Bob’s  house: Address is 213 W 4th Street.  Shoshoni (enter Shoshoni, turn left at the little white church and go up the hill 2 blocks.  Turn left again and Bob’s house is the only one on the left-hand side of the street.
